It might seem like acai berry supplements are a poor alternative for real acai berries. Perhaps they are, but before you make a judgment like that, consider this: when was the last time you saw an actual, real, acai berry in the stores down the road? Never? No, that’s because they are very rarely seen outside the immediate area in which they are harvested. The high fat content of the acai berry mean that it simply degrades so quickly that storage and distribution become impossibly expensive.

This difficulty is the reason we see so many different types of acai products: from acai supplements to acai juices to acai preserves. Of these arguably the most versatile are the benefits of acai berry supplements: not only are they tasteless and small, but you don’t need to start preparing all sorts of weird and (not so) wonderful dishes in which to put your acai. A big benefit of Acai supplements is they allow you to add acai to your diet without disrupting the rest of your life.

The acai berry itself is a pretty little drupe, almost 1 inch in diameter and containing a seed that takes up 80% of the fruit’s volume. The berries grown in large bunches way in the canopy of the Amazonian rain forest Exotic? You bet!

If you haven’t heard of the acai berry then you are in a very small variety. Whilst it was not too long ago that the acai berry — painstakingly harvested on the top of very tall trees in the depths of the Brazilian rain forest — was relatively unknown except in health food circles, the attention of the media and of one particular national heroine in particular has ensured that it is now known by — and enjoyed by — the world.

The heroine was Oprah Winfrey. In one her shows she featured a book by Dr. Perricone. Dr. Nicholas Perricone (MD) is a professor at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Perricone’s research has revolved around the foods and natural products that can help our bodies. In his book — The Perricone Promise — Dr. Perricone compiled a list of the most potent ‘super foods’ that were readily available at that time. The acai berry came top of this list.

That the acai berry was at the top of the list of this erudite professor’s list was, unfortunately, not enough to show the benefits to the rest of the world. It took an Oprah Winfrey feature showing this book for it to really reach critical mass.

I studied sciences when I was at University and I know just how frustrating collecting accurate data can be. It is no surprise to me that scientists sometimes break from their schedule to attempt to make light of a serious topic. It appears that this is what a group of scientists were all about when they penned the report on Salvia which I have in front of me. The report tells me, no joking, that nearly 50% of the test subjects answered that they had experienced an increased feeling of connection to the Universe.

Serious study? Perhaps not.

But study of any kind into Salvia and its effects — serious or otherwise — is under jeopardy. If the government decides to carry out its threat and ban Salvia entirely then research like this will be over for ever. This would be the end of the promising researching aiming towards a more effective treatment for degenerative psychological diseases. It would cut the investigation of this prime area of research down in its prime.

This attack on Salvia is just another attempt at removing the civil liberties for which we fought so hard; it is the thin end of a thick wedge that promises to rob us of our freedom.

I can usually tell when something is healthy or not just by tasting it. I can taste fat in products and it makes me feel a little ill; fruit on the hand always tastes good and clean.

My taste buds went into overdrive when I tasted the acai juice that I had ordered over the Internet I have heard people talking about acai for ages — I even saw Oprah praising its great qualities — and I just had to try it. So much adoration from so many quarters simply cannot be without merit, I thought. And I was not wrong at all. This stuff is truly great.

First off, it tastes great. Second, it comes as an acai juice which is essentially the berries but in more manageable form. Thirdly medical studies have shown without question that acai juice is extremely good for your overall health.

Anti oxidants help the body to stay healthy and fight infections and diseases. It has been shown that high intake of anti oxidants can actually help to prevent the onset of cancer and diabetes. My doctor even told me that acai juice could combat the onset of premature aging. How’s that for an impressive accolade from someone who knows what he is talking about?

If you are looking for a model business to look up to for inspiration, then don’t look at Monavie.

Monavie entered the acai juice market in 2005 with a range of products. These products were, from the start, over priced and sadly lacking in acai juice.

Critics of the juice included prominent physicians and nutritionists, who claimed the health benefits of the Monavie products had not been proved, and that their marketing was misleading. They went on to tell potential customers that the Monavie product was ‘exorbitantly priced’.

Monavie went on the marketing trail and, in an attempt to hide the apparent flaws in the product itself, tried to simply mislead the public about the benefits even further. The Monavie juice products were claimed to be effective in treating inflammation, high cholesterol, muscle and joint pain, and many others. The FDA took exception to these claims, and it turned out that Monavie had been marketing its juice products as a drug; this was illegal and Monavie were warned.

The management team behind Monavie must enjoy the trip to court: certainly they have been there enough times, with no less than three major cases emerged since 2007 — they were the plaintiff in one and dependent in the remaining two.

There are lots of people in lots of different industries that are singing the praises of the fruit and of the acai diet. Oprah called the acai berry the “number 1 super food” and said that “this little berry is one of the most nutritious and powerful foods in the world”. High praise indeed!

Next on the list of praisers is the venerable Dr. Nicholas Perricone. Acai features on his list of super foods at number 1. His book, The Perricone Promise, lists acai as his top super food.

Even the New York Times has had its turn for praising acai. The article points out that an acai diet is good because acai is rich in antioxidants and amino acids.

An acai diet is recommended in many circles as a good way to help prevent serious illnesses like cancer, diabetes and even Alzheimer’s. With acai being available in juice form there is absolutely no reason not to give this a go!

Doctors are eager to prescribe an acai diet for general improvements to health and well-being It is even said that an acai diet can help to prevent and combat the signs of ageing If that’s not an incentive to try an acai diet then I don’t know what is!

Well, Gay Porn Star may be stretching the truth a bit. Most of the videos Gregg Smithermann makes you never see his face. Gregg Smitherman is usually more of a “receiver”. You may not recognize Gregg in some of his earlier work when he still had hair. The clip below is pretty disgusting, Gregg Smitherman actually cums in his own ass…

Making sure that a rocket is safe enough to carry a shuttle into space is a pretty thankless task. There’s no real way to do a test run. There’s no way that you can make adjustments after the first run: once you start this baby going you had better be damn sure that it’s going to work as advertised.

So it is with NASA’s latest creation: the Constellation Program. The Orbit shuttle will carry members of the crew into space, while the Ares rocket will power them into the Stratosphere.

If you read the above two paragraphs then you are probably coming to the conclusion that flying on something mounted to an untested Ares rocket probably is quite an exciting thing to do (if, that is, you find near-death experiences exciting).

So how to get around this little problem? Massive, massive design reviews and testing, as far as possible, the individual parts. This huge regime explains in some way why the Ares rocket has just completed its initial testing and yet still will not be ready until 2015. Some people 1,100 specialists are involved in the rigorous design reviews.

That’s 1,100 that those brave crew must rely on. Building Ares is a huge task: making sure it works is a bigger one.

Medical researchers don’t really know a great deal about salvia. In fact they know next to nothing about the drug and its effects. Part of the problem is that people have only really started to research it properly in the past few years. Now that the politicians and lawmakers are threatening to ban salvia divinorum it is unlikely that those researchers will ever get their chance to work out just what makes the currently legal drug tick.

So what does it do to the body? Salvia is a subjective drug which means the feelings that you experience when you take it will be different to those experienced by others. It will probably even be different if you take it twice.

Some of the confirmed effects of Salvia are:

Uncontrollable laughter or fits of giggles, regression, the retrieval of old memories, outer-body experiences, overlapping realities and acute hallucinations. What you get out of the experience may include some of these, or other feelings: some people simple report feeling a little ‘odd’. Others really don’t like the feelings that they get.

The only way you’ll know what you feel is to try it yourself! Given that it might soon be illegal Salvia virgins would do well to consider this now rather than later.
