Filesharing is becoming increasingly popular, and with this popularity comes an increased number of software programs with which to carry out the sharing activity. I will now take a look at Ares Ultra, one of the better filesharing programs available. The first thing that strikes about Ares Ultra is the simplicity of the layout of the user interface. This is absolutely fantastic news for anyone new to the world of P2P filesharing, but not such good news for anyone wishing to use any of the more powerful features of the software. The functions are there in Ares Ultra but they may be a little more hidden than in other versions.

Generally Ares Ultra is a slick piece of software and we definitely recommend its use. It will definitely suit those new to the game and will probably work well for anyone who doesn’t intend to use the more advanced functionality offered by filesharing programs.

iPhone fans now have something else to brag about along with their touchscreens and gadgets and gizmos. While it has been a long time coming, a filesharing app has finally been released for the iPhone, although it isn’t exactly official.

iSlsk gives owners of cracked iPhones access to the Soulseek filesharing network, with free music downloads now available at decent speeds, straight to their iPhones.
With a decent connection, it’s possible to download an entire movie in under an hour. Free music downloads are super fast, taking only about three minutes to download a whole song. If that isn’t enough to tempt you to buy an iPhone then we don’t know what is.

Of course, people seem to forget that filesharing is much easier and faster on a computer, which pretty much all iPhone users have, but as a gimmick, iPhone filesharing is pretty cool.

Downloaded songs can then be imported into your iPhone library.

This is, apparently, just the beginning of iPhone filesharing. We can’t wait to see what Apple has to say about all of this.

Rock band Nine Inch Nails are trying to make history by allowing fans to access free music downloads: their latest album, “The Slip”, for nothing through its website. The band’s leader Trent Reznor has long offered outspoken support on behalf of fans that want to listen to his music but cannot afford extortionate fees for commercial CDs. Free music downloads seems an accepted part of life, and Trent knows that one must embrace this rather than ignore it.

Nine Inch Nails leaked a few of its tracks from previous albums into the mainstream before the release of its last album, ‘Year Zero’. This was the last album that the band did with a major label, and the free music downloads was just as much as a furtive effort from the band as it was a bold one.

Recently the British act Coldplay, who are signed to EMI, joined the free music downloads parade and offered the first single from its forthcoming album entirely free for a limited time.

The thought of unlimited free music downloads would perhaps have been scoffed at a year or two ago. Now they are very much the reality, and it is not back-street shady deals that are seeing poor-quality mp3s flooding the market. This is happening with some of the biggest names in the business and it is happening on a very big scale. Unlimited music downloads are real.

Sony BMG is the one of the surprise participants in the joyous news. Previously notorious for their part in the sue-a-thon that was the RIAA’s battle against file sharing, the publishing giant has agreed deals with not one but two providers (We7 and Nokia) to provide music downloads of its back catalogue.

27-7 Entertainment is preparing to embark on a new music downloads project with a Nordic phone provider, and is rumored to be in talks with UK providers, too. Exciting times.

What others are saying:
We7 support Sony on free music downloads
Sony and We7 team up on music downloads
