We7 and Sony BMG have recently announced a partnership which will see all of Sony’s back catalogue available for free from the We7 site. This is wonderful news for music lovers – not so good for the record companies, though – and it should see some momentum being gained for free music downloads. Hurrah!

The music downloads industry has been crying out for a partnership for a while: testament to this fact is the sheer number of similar deals being discussed. From We7 and Sony BMG, to Napster and Vodafone, to Napster (again) and O2, and 24-7 Entertainment with a Nordic mobile provider. Exciting times indeed.

Details of the deals are sketchy at best but users of the 24-7 Entertainment service will be able to offer unlimited legal music downloads without paying an extra fee on top of their mobile bills. The music downloads will be DRM-protected but can be played by a CD player or MP3 player.

Popular move “The Secret” introduced millions of people to the possibilities offered by home based business. The major players in this market – names such as Lifepath Unlimited and Wealth Masters – areflourishing, but where have they appeared from? Read on.

The last 50 years has seen numerous revolutions in the home business industry; the major changed moved the industry from peripheral view to the mainstream. Amway led the way to start: customers purchased products at a reduced cost and made money on products purchased by people that you referred. Clearly this is Multi-Level Marketing at its simplest.

People started to make good money but it was not the easy goldmine that it was billed to be: for everyone making a decent wage were hundreds lacking the necessary drive and commitment that had fallen by the wayside.

In the 90′s the paradigm shifted to bring the direct sales model of network marketing into focus – this meant higher margins and no sharing of profits with those above you in the MLM tiers. Big money was possible and people were again making serious money.

In the 2000s home based business went mainstream, with Liberty League International and Wealth Masters International capitalizing on the internet growth spurt, whilst LifePath Unlimited forges ahead in the home business direct sales and personal development industries.

Home based business is the art of running your own business from your own home. Does this sound appealing? Of course it does. Think about it. Whether you are looking for an additional financial boost, are tired of making money for others, looking to expand an existing hobby or are simply tired of the threat of company downsizing, you should consider a home-based business opportunity.

Not only does the freedom and piece of mind of running your own home based business make it seem very appealing, but there are financial benefits too: no commuting, offset of home costs against your tax bills, no carers required for the children. The temporal freedom of simply being able to set your own schedule has to be worth a lot to anyone; prefer working overnight? Go for it.

Setting up your home based business will not be easy but it will be worth it. Millions of Americans and worldwide who have their own home based business will agree.

Do you have a computer? Yes, of course you do. Do you listen music? Most likely. So you’ve probably downloaded music. Whether you did this through one of the many services offering music downloads or through a filesharing network like that provided by Limewire, you can be sure that you are in very good company.

A recent study of 5000 people by Forrester Research Inc has shown that sales for music downloads will equal that of CD purchases as soon as 2011. If that’s not enough, it will pass it a year later. The number of MP3 downloads will grow at a rate of 23% over the coming five years. Impressive figures for an industry still very much in its infancy!

Why do people want to download music rather than buy? Because it will be on there computer within a few minutes. Do people like CDs? Sure. Do they like them enough to go tramping through the snow, rain and sleet to get them? No!

The current marriage between mobile wireless technology and larger, traditional technology could be coined the MobiCom revolution. Revolution is an interesting word implying massive and fundamental change: this is what MobiCom brings to mobile technology and traditional computers.

Gone are the days when ‘normal’ computing technology was too big to fit in your house. Gone also are the days when cell phones were too big for your pocket. Shrink both, increase the power many times, and we get to where we were in the year 2000: desktop computers with comparatively huge power and small – mobile – telephones on which you can play simple games and even search the mobile web.

Come into the present and technology has shrunk even further. Now we have telephones with full computing power, capable of anything a desktop was a few years ago. UMPCs have miniaturized the mobile computer so that every bus, train or airplane seat is a fully functioning office.

Mobile technology is upwardly mobile.
